Date: 22-26 FEB , 2027

Location: Butner Public Safety Training Center. 701 Central Ave, Butner, NC 27509

Fee: There is no fee for this training.

Length: 5 Day (40 Hours) | 08:00 – 17:00

Meals: Responsibility of the participants agency.

 Lodging: Lodging will be provided free of charge at 539 Roberts Chapel Rd, Stem, NC 27581 by Camp Butner Training Center. Located about five minutes away from Butner Public Safety Training Center. Attendees will be in building 1023. Check in time will begin at 15:00 21 FEB, 2027. Please bring all necessary toiletries ie; pillow, bed sheets, blanket, soap, shampoo, shower shoes etc.

Event registration will close 20 FEB, 2027 in order to allow the facility adequate time to properly plan and prepare for student arrival.

Designed For: This course is intended specifically for law enforcement and corrections officers actively engaged in SWAT/SRT/CERT operations.

Prerequisites: Students must be sworn law enforcement officers currently serving on a SWAT/SR Team or currently serving in a law enforcement capacity as a member of the United States Armed Forces. Priority of registration is given to NC state and local civilian law enforcement officers. All participants should be in good general health and physical condition and capable of performing minimal physical skills associated with field exercises described in this course.

Course Information:

  1. Recommended Equipment: Ballistic vest and helmet, eye and ear protection, camel back for water, day bag for equipment, communication equipment (portable radio and cell phone), simunitions weapons (if available), ballistic shields, duty and tactical weapons, mounted tactical lighting, ammunition, and weapons cleaning kit.
  2. Ammunition: Provision of ammunition for live fire exercises is the responsibility of the attendee and their sponsoring agency. The anticipated round count is 250 (minimum) – 400 rounds per weapon system. Please plan accordingly.

Description: This course is a basic law enforcement tactical team course designed to instruct the student in officer safety techniques and team protective measures during a tactical team deployment in high-risk operations against armed suspects. The course focuses on enabling the student to learn the presented tactics and techniques through classroom lessons, supported by live fire ranges and practical exercises. Practical exercises are decision oriented, requiring analysis during stressful tactical team missions in armed ‘force on force’ simunitions scenarios.

Objectives: This course prepares responders equipped and trained to operate in urban and rural environments in both daylight and darkness to deal with wide-ranging incidents and topics including:

  • Security Operations
  • Response to Civil Disturbances
  • Ballistic Theory
  • Reconnaissance
  • Weapons Manipulation

Cancellation and No-Show Policy

We understand that real world operations can be unpredictable and may result in a person being unable to attend training which they have registered for. In these cases we simply ask that you notify MANTA at least 48 hours prior to the start of training. This will allow us time to contact the waitlist. Any student who fails to notify MANTA and is not present during the start of training will be considered a “no-show.” This is extremely detrimental to our mission as no-shows take away training opportunities from other law enforcement officers. MANTA maintains a roster of all no-shows and repeat offenders could result in negative consequences for both the individual and the agency they represent in regards to future training opportunities.

 

MANTA training is provided free of charge to Law Enforcement Officers through the NC National Guard Counterdrug Program.
