AERIAL INTEGRATION: 29-31 August 2017
Length: 3 days (24 Hours)
Designed For: Sworn law enforcement officers and agents of any federal, state, or local agency with arresting or detaining power that may be considering UAV/sUAS use.
Prerequisites: Attendees must be sworn law enforcement
Description: This course focuses on the various ways law enforcement agencies can leverage drone and traditional aviation technology in daily operations. The course will provide substantive guidance on:
- Establishing a UAV Program
- Legal Implications: Federal, State, and Municipal
- Procurement Considerations and Costs
- Capabilities
- Flight Demonstrations
In addition, we will review UAV/sUAS technology, platforms, tactical employment, and integration with Law Enforcement functions. Presenters will provide action steps for agencies to adopt and employ this emergent technology. An additional block of instruction is devoted to fixed and rotary wing manned aircraft integration. Finally, instructors will provide attendees with hands-on experience operating various UAV/sUAS platforms and flight time in rotary wing crafts.
