Fee: There is no fee for this training.

Length: 2 Day (16 Hours) | 8am – 6pm

Meals / Lodging: Responsibility of the participants agency.

Event registration will close March 10, 2026, in order to allow the facility and instructor(s) adequate time to properly plan and prepare for student arrival.

Designed For: This course is intended specifically for law enforcement and members of the United States Armed Forces serving in a law enforcement capacity.

Prerequisites: Students must be sworn law enforcement officers or currently serving in a law enforcement capacity as a member of the United States Armed Forces. Priority of registration is given to NC state and local civilian law enforcement officers. Out of state and federal officers will be placed on the waiting list before seat confirmation is given. All participants should be in good general health and physical condition and capable of performing minimal physical skills associated with field exercises described in this course.

 

Course Information:

Recommended Equipment: 

  • Ballistic vest and helmet
  • Eye and ear protection
  • Camel back for water
  • Communication equipment (portable radio and cell phone)
  • Duty and tactical weapons
  • Ammunition/Pouches
  • Weapons cleaning kit

 

Ammunition: Provision of ammunition for live fire exercises is the responsibility of the attendee and their sponsoring agency. The anticipated round count is 500 rounds Pistol and 100 AR. Please plan accordingly.

This course will cover defensive and offensive vehicle gun fighting in depth.

This course is conducted around multiple vehicles that are actually brought on to the range.

The following objectives will be met by each student during the two-day (16 hours) course:

  • Engaging threats in a vehicle: Live fire exercise shooting into vehicles
  • Engaging threats from a vehicle: Live fire exercise from inside and around vehicles
  • Points of cover around a vehicle: Explaining the actual cover that exists around any vehicle and modes of survival
  • Myths associated with vehicles: Fact versus legend
  • Windshield shooting lab: All will fire thru a windshield at various threats. Cameras are encouraged for data collection and for education back to department.
  • Vehicle shooting lab: Officers will fire into vehicles. Cameras are encouraged for data collection and for education back to department.
  • Retention shooting: Live fire exercise at point blank range utilizing various techniques for neutralizing threat

 

 

 

 

MANTA training is provided free of charge to Law Enforcement Officers through the NC National Guard Counterdrug Program.
